2017 Empower the Immigrant Woman Annual Conference
March 18 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
There are two back-to-back sessions with the goal of inspiring empowerment and helping educate the newest Americans on the programs and services available to address education, social, and credentialing challenges of foreign born and skilled professionals:
Session 1 – The Trailblazer’s Panel
This panel of women from various communities will share insight, lessons learned, stories of perseverance and wisdom. It is designed to inspire empowerment.
Session 2 – The Workforce Integration Panel
In this second panel, we are inviting three local service providers to use the stories they’ve just heard in the Trailblazer’s Panel as a springboard to discuss the programs and services they consider the most beneficial to immigrant women forging their way in Maine. Providers will discuss both the services they provide, along with other resources they may be aware of in the community.
The overarching aim of these back-to-back panels is to offer women’s stories as a backbone and grounding force that provides a context for the audience to integrate the resource information.
A Resource Fair will follow in the lobby of Wishcamper, with exhibitors sharing information on their resources and services.
